Dawson, himself

Dawson, himself is a hip hop artist based in Minneapolis, MN, represented by Aggressive Music Group and a Co-Founder of Mail Service Records. Dawson started writing music when he was 16 years old and was quickly told that he did not fit the profile of a hip hop artist. However, Dawson continued to write and produce music, releasing his debut EP, "Houston EP", in December 2017 while living in Houston, TX. Dawson soon moved back to his home state of Minnesota in June 2018, releasing his debut mixtape "Dreamin'" on the day of his return. The mixtape featured a range of styles, from the softer and introspective "Where is My Mind?", to the party rap anthem, "Late Night Anthem", which was featured on the Barron Studios "Burn Labs" podcast as track of the month for May 2018. The lead single from the mixtape, "#1 Fan", was released on all streaming services and was Dawson's first widely distributed song. Since then, Dawson has released 3 more songs to streaming services, including the 2-part single series "Flux" and "Livin'". His most recent release, "Heart & Soul", was judged by Midwestern hip hop legend, Carnage the Executioner, as a "pretty dope track". Dawson continues to produce music and is working toward his first studio album, while performing in showcases and shows across the Twin Cities area.
